Home and Healing

I wanted to write a quick post today to let you--all of my dear blogging friends--know that I came through my surgery just fine, with nary a cancer cell in sight. I am feeling very lucky and very, very blessed right now, and I wanted to say "thanks" to all of you who took the time out of your own hectic lives to pray for me and send me good wishes. I don't know if I would've had the positive attitude that I felt going into surgery if it was not for the knowledge that there were so many people rooting for me.

And God bless my Dylan...he saved my sanity today by lending me his laptop, since I can't make the trip downstairs yet to get to my own! I'm not much of a television person, so this was a true blessing. Also, "Simply Me" and my cousin Tina are bringing me some books to read, so I'll be set for the week!

So once again, thank you. I know I've said it before, but I truly don't know what I would've done without all of my wonderful blogging buddies throughout this ordeal. You are the BEST!!!

Lisa! So glad you came through just fine. It sounds like you have some great friends and family who will be looking out after you, to make sure you don't get too bored. Mind the doc and heal fast, lady.

Dear Shimmerings,

Thank you, I will definitely try to "mind the doc", not too easy with a house full of teens, but most of them are pulling their own weight. My oldest daughter has risen to the occasion a couple of times, which gives me hope that her "selfish" years are starting to fade behind her somewhat! She is even willing to cook...however, yesterday my mother-in-law made a nice Italian sauce, meatballs and spaghetti for us, so she didn't have to. And...believe it or not...my husband's ex-wife made us a huge tray of delicious meat loaf (now, how many people can say THAT?)! Simply Me ("Life, How Did I Get Here") got me two books from the library, and I'm set with this here laptop. Rachel Ray is on in the background making some delicious-looking Mediterranean meal. Healing doesn't get much better than this!!

Take good care,
Lisa

BTW folks....she looks great!!
Though the little night dress does make her look a little like a granny LOL, only b/c her pace is just a touch slow right now. She does look wonderful but more importantly she is healing and in good health.

EEhhhhmmme...non puoi uccidere una mosca con un cannone. What can I tell you.

(love you, and thanks for busting my staples with that book)

very good news Lisa! so glad you're okay-except for the usual post surgical pain and discomfort. Take care, rest and let your family pamper you for a while.

Dust-bunny said...

Hi Carine,

Thank you for the good wishes. My family is trying their best! They had a lot to adjust to. I'm trying to dole out small jobs around the house without sounding like a drill sargeant! Each day, a little more progress!

Take good care,
Lisa

Dear Matty,

Haaha! You're a hoot! It actually was really good for someone who claims she never cooks (and we're all still here)! Hope all is going well on your end. I want to stop by Young Warrior today to get an update (I find working on a laptop in bed to be very uncomfortable, so I haven't been on it as much as I would've been on my dinosaur).

Take good care,
Lisa

Dear Summer,

I'm happy to be home, also! I'm going a little stir crazy, because I went from being too busy to being totally bored! Once I'm able to do the stairs, I'll be able to get on my own computer and start writing again. I have a lot of thoughts, I just hope I remember them all!

Take good care,
Lisa

Dear Mark,

Thank you. I just got my staples out today, and they said everything looked great, including my pathology report. I'm so thankful to God...this was a stressful time. Thanks for stopping by!

Take good care,
Lisa
